ABOUT CAMBRIDGE MADE
Cambridge Made is a group of East Anglian designers, artists and craftspeople, originally founded in 2014 as the Etsy team for the Cambridge area - later expanding to allow any local designer, artist or maker to join. CM exists to support its members - as well as holding social meet-ups, we have a thriving Facebook group where members can seek and provide advice and info.
An important part of our remit is creating selling events to showcase the work of our makers and allow them to interface directly with shoppers. Since 2014 we've hosted an annual Christmas Fair, originally as a pop-up shop upstairs in a Cambridge pub. It is now a major market-style event, taking place over three days in central Cambridge and regularly attracting more than 5000 visitors. Other events CM has created include summer fairs in a variety of locations, and pop-ups inside an Ely art gallery and at the Women Of the World festival at the Cambridge Junction.
Cambridge Made also works hard to promote our makers and stand up for handmade. Members have benefited from features in the local press, and our social media presence is growing. We use our popular public Facebook page to keep our Cambridge friends updated about CM activities and those of members. CM's regular themes on Instagram also provide an engaging space to highlight the many beautiful and useful products created with love by our makers.
