The Cambridge Club 2019 Preview: MUSIC 🎶

With the excitement building, our line-up now launched, First Release TICKETS sold out, and 2019 just around the corner – we thought it was time to give you the lowdown on next year’s festival and what to expect!

With less than 6 months to go, we’re past the halfway stage – and the future fun of The Cambridge Club 2019 is now closer than the past glory of its predecessor in June this year (and what a day that was...)

So here we go – our quick preview of June 16th next year, and the delights that await you all...

PART 1: Much More Marvellous Music

We’ve been honoured to host some incredible artists and bands over the last two years. In 2018, we had the glorious Gabrielle gracing the stage; Trevor Nelson and Craig Charles kept us dancing into the sunset with some top tunes; plus Uncle Funk & the Boogie Wonderband's disco tribute kicked off the day in style.

We didn’t think it could get much better than that, but at The Cambridge Club we’re all about the funkiest, funnest, most feel-good music – and who better to bring that ultimate vibe than disco legends SISTER SLEDGE, who we’re thrilled to announce as our 2019 headliners!

One of the most iconic female musical collections of all time, the superstar Sisters – behind a whole host of timeless hits such as ‘We Are Family’, ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer’, ‘Thinking About You’ and ‘Lost In Music’ – will be bringing their amazing live show to Cambridge.

Get your dancing shoes at the ready, because this will be one big party from start to finish. Yes, 2019 is going to be a true Father's Day “We Are Family” special (we can’t wait for that song!)

Here it is in all it’s groovy glory, our biggest and boogie-est line-up ever – spanning the finest in disco, funk, soul, folk, rock, 70s/80s and more, with a BRAND NEW STAGE to top it off too:

A firm favourite of the festival, returning for the third year running to the warmest of welcomes, BBC Radio’s CRAIG CHARLES FUNK & SOUL CLUB will once again be bringing the best in funk, soul and everything in between as the perfect soundtrack to our summer Sunday. Expect the biggest dance-a-longs, funky twists on classics, and unmatched energy throughout.

With 20 years as a backing vocalist for global megastars such as Eric Clapton, Ed Sheeran and Lenny Kravitz under her belt – not to mention reaching the final of ‘The Voice’ UK in 2017 – MICHELLE JOHN is one of our country’s most powerful vocalists. The star songstress will be gracing Cambridge with her dulcet tones in an incredible live performance.

For the first time, we also have an entire SECOND STAGE of live music (in association with Caffe Nero) – featuring an exciting alternative bill of up-and-coming bands and vocalists from Cambridgeshire, East Anglia and beyond. Expect killer grooves, cracking covers and some sweet surprises here...

Check out three of our favourite numbers from the bands performing on ‘The Den’ stage here:

Georgia & The Vintage Youth - The Girl (LIVE)
Katy Hurt - Cheap
Eddy Smith & The 507 - Lost On You

2 stages, an abundance of acts, 1 day of magnificent music. What’s not to like?! And that’s before we even get onto food and drink...

In PART 2 next, we look at all the other exciting things to do, see, eat and drink at The Cambridge Club Festival 2019!

Stay tuned…
